Concept & Launch

In the summer of 2011, I lead the creation of the Level Shoes brand, concept, and design. 
In 12 months, along with a steering committee comprised of the top leadership of the Chalhoub Group, I was able to form a team of retail and shoe enthusiasts to deliver a spectacular concept. In October 2012, we opened the doors to the largest shoes store in the world, spanning 9000 sqm, in the one and only Dubai Mall. This experience was immersive and holistic as it gave me the chance to work with creatives and thought leaders to express and transmit the magic of retail and to really understand the power of community. 

In 2014, we went on to win in retailer of the year award in an event that was organized by Fairchild’s Footwear News in New York also attended by Sarah Jessica Parker, Mr. Stan Smith himself, Guiseppe Zanotti, and many more inspiring people.

I have a passion for the energy that comes from a well-designed brand, that is connected with its community, and that engages and touches its soul. This might sound poetic but it isn’t exaggerated. 


If you put yourself in the shoes of the person you are addressing and you imagine or visualize their behavior at each touch point, you can recreate these steps and be sure that you will be closest to grab their attention.


Working for Level Shoes was a playground for us, to create and to delight. We immersed our community ever so often in a new world that would tell a story and we let our imaginations sparkle. Here are some of the fun 360 community creations I am proud of.


Dear India


It was over a conversation with my friend Dipesh Depala that I came to know a lot more about what goes into the wedding season and ceremony in India. He opened my eyes to the beauty and hidden gems of India and I started dreaming of how to tell the story through the eyes of Level Shoes and how to connect the West and the East. Dear India became by far my favorite project that we poured our hearts into and we celebrated with the community grandly.

Men’s Section Launch


A couple of years after the opening of Level Shoes, the men’s shoe category evolved and so did men's style. We uncovered through our research and our community that there were 3 distinct type of men's styles and we wanted to create a space designed with them in mind and deliver to each group an offering like no other.

Mini Me - Kid's Section Launch


When it became apparent to us that parents started loving to match with their little ones, we had to play a role in paving the way for designers to offer the mini versions to our community and for our community to have a place to display their style!


Condé Nast International Luxury Conference 2017


The theme of the Condé Nast Luxury Conference for 2017 was mindful luxury. We were invited to speak at that conference and to present the Level Shoes Concept. I worked with the team to tell the story of Level Shoes through the evolution of culture and community. As our community evolved, our space, our service and our offering did too.
